Lawson Statement on Wildfires in Eastpoint, Fla.

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Rep. Al Lawson (FL-05) today released the following statement regarding the wildfires in Eastpoint, Fla.:

“My heart goes out to the families affected by the wildfire in Eastpoint. I represented Franklin County for more than 20 years while serving in the Florida Legislature, and continue to share a special bond with the citizens of the area. It is devastating to see all the homes destroyed and families displaced by this fire. I pray for the safety of everyone in the area. I thank the first responders and volunteers who have given their time and effort to help families in need. My staff and I offer our full support and pledge to work with Congressman Dunn to ensure that the citizens of Eastpoint are able to rebuild.”
